Regular Season Round 28: Istanbul BSB - Darussafaka 84-87

Thirteenth-ranked Istanbul BSB (9-19) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Darussafaka (19-9) on Saturday. The visitors managed to secure only three-point victory 87-84. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 30-13 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Darussafaka looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Istanbul BSB was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American Luke Harangody (202-88, college: Notre Dame, agency: Priority Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. The other American import guard Scottie Wilbekin (188-92, college: Florida) chipped in 20 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). American guard Sean Armand (196-91, college: Iona) produced 11 points and 7 assists and Slovenian swingman Jaka Klobucar (198-87) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Five Istanbul BSB players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Darussafaka have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 19-9 record. Loser Istanbul BSB keeps the thirteenth place with 19 games lost. Darussafaka will face Trabzonspor (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Istanbul BSB will play against Konyaspor and hope to win that game.
