Regular Season Round 28: Yesilgiresun - Demir IBB 93-92

A very interesting game took place in Giresun. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked Demir IBB (14-14) to twelfth ranked Yesilgiresun (11-17) 93-92 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Demir IBB. Demir IBB was ahead by 11 points after three quarters before a 28-16 charge of Yesilgiresun, which allowed them to win the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by Bulgarian power forward Dejan Ivanov (205-86, agency: Beo Basket) who scored that evening 35 points (!!!) and 5 assists (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and American-Georgian forward Quinton Hosley (201-84, college: Fresno St.) supported him with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Even 17 points and 5 assists by American-Tunisian Michael Roll (197-87, college: UCLA, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Demir IBB. American point guard Erving Walker (173-90, college: Florida, agency: Two Points) added 16 points and 4 assists for lost side. Five Demir IBB players scored in double figures. Demir IBB's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Yesilgiresun have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Yesilgiresun maintains twelfth position with 11-17 record. Demir IBB at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eighth place with 14 games lost. Yesilgiresun's next round opponent will be again higher ranked Demir IBB (#9) in Buyukcekmece and it may be quite challenging game.
