Regular Season Round 28: Turk Telekom - Konyaspor 95-81

Bottom-ranked Turk Telekom managed to get a seventh victory, breaking the two-game losing streak on Saturday night. This time they won against fifteenth-ranked Konyaspor in Ankara 95-81. The game was mostly controlled by Turk Telekom. Konyaspor managed to win fourth quarter 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Konyaspor 41-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. Turk Telekom looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Swingman Manny Harris (196-89, college: Michigan) fired 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Marcus Haislip (208-80, college: Tennessee) chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Turk Telekom's coach Burak Biyiktay used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Dionte Christmas (196-86, college: Temple) produced 23 points and 4 assists and forward Sean Williams (208-86, college: Boston Coll.) added 11 points and 13 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Konyaspor players scored in double figures. Turk Telekom (7-21) moved-up to fifteenth place. Konyaspor lost fifteenth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom. Turk Telekom are looking forward to face higher ranked Galatasaray (#3) in Istanbul in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Konyaspor will play at home against Istanbul BSB (#13) and is hoping to win this game.
