Fifteenth-ranked Turk Telekom (7-22) was very close to win a game against third ranked Galatasaray (20-8) in Istanbul on Wednesday. Galatasaray managed to secure only five-point victory 139-134. However their fans expected much easier game. Galatasaray made 28-of-33 free shots (84.8 percent) during the game. American point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) nailed 31 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and American-Czech swingman Blake Schilb (201-83, college: Loyola, IL) accounted for 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Galatasaray's coach Ergin Ataman allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American swingman Manny Harris (196-89, college: Michigan) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import power forward Eric Buckner (208-90, college: Georgia St., agency: David Lee services) added 26 points and 11 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) respectively for Turk Telekom in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Galatasaray maintains third place with 20-8 record having four points less than leader Anadolu Efes. Loser Turk Telekom keeps the fifteenth position with 22 games lost. Galatasaray will meet at home Karsiyaka (#6) in the next round. Turk Telekom will have a break next round.
