Regular Season Round 29: Demir IBB - Karsiyaka 99-100

The most exciting game of round 29 in the BSL took place in Buyukcekmece. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 8th ranked Demir IBB (14-15) to seventh ranked Karsiyaka (16-12) 100-99 on Thursday evening. Karsiyaka made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Demir IBB helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American-Guinea-Bissau center Colton Iverson (212-89, college: Colorado St., agency: Pensack Sports) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. The former international guard Can Altintig (195-87) contributed with 20 points and 5 assists for the winners. Karsiyaka's coach Ufuk Sarica used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Antywane Robinson (203-84, college: Temple, agency: Priority Sports) answered with 23 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import power forward Kahiem Seawright (206-86, college: Rhode Island) added 18 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) in the effort for Demir IBB. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to sixth place. Newly promoted Demir IBB keeps the eighth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Besiktas and Royal Hali. Karsiyaka are looking forward to face higher ranked Galatasaray (#3) in Istanbul in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Demir IBB will play on the road against Besiktas (#10) in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
