Second Stage Round 17: SDYUSHOR-4 - SDYUSHOR-5 76-75

The most exciting game of round 17 in the National League took place in Mykolaiv. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed SDYUSHOR-5 (7-4) to second ranked SDYUSHOR-4 (10-6) 76-75 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of SDYUSHOR-5. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But SDYUSHOR-5 won third quarter 24-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded SDYUSHOR-5 55-41 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Anna Chechetkina (180-95) saved the victory by scoring 25 points and 9 rebounds. Power forward Yulia Bohatyuk (184-97) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four SDYUSHOR-4 players scored in double figures. Point guard Oksana Fastova (168-99) answered with 25 points and 7 rebounds and Oksana Tsebenko (-98) added 7 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for SDYUSHOR-5. SDYUSHOR-5's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. SDYUSHOR-4 maintains second place with 10-6 record having just one point less than leader Interkhim. Newly promoted SDYUSHOR-5 dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. SDYUSHOR-4 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. SDYUSHOR-5 will play on the road against LDUFK-Skif (#6) in Lviv and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
