Regular Season Round 30: Besiktas - Demir IBB 98-94

Everything could happen in Istanbul at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Besiktas and 9th ranked Demir IBB had identical 14-15 record. This time Besiktas used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Buyukcekmece 98-94. It looked good early as Demir IBB took a 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Besiktas had a 29-18 second period charge getting the lead and Demir IBB was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 94-98. The former international guard Engin Atsur (193-84, college: N.Carolina St., agency: Beo Basket) notched 21 points and 8 assists to lead the effort and American swingman Tremmell Darden (194-81, college: Niagara) supported him with 13 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Even a double-double of 19 points and 11 assists by American-Tunisian Michael Roll (197-87, college: UCLA, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Demir IBB. American power forward Kahiem Seawright (206-86, college: Rhode Island) added 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Demir IBB's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Besiktas (15-15) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Royal Hali. Demir IBB lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with 16 games lost.
