Regular Season Round 30: Galatasaray - Karsiyaka 74-67
Date: May 9, 2016
Rather predictable result in Istanbul where third ranked Galatasaray (22-8) defeated 6th ranked Karsiyaka (17-13) 74-67. The hosts were already 14 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 23-16 Karsiyaka's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 74-67 at the end of the game. Galatasaray brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. American point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) notched 13 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and the former international Goksenin Koksal (195-91) supported him with 10 points. Four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. Even 14 points by American guard Bracey Wright (191-84, college: Indiana) did not help to save the game for Karsiyaka. American-Guinea-Bissau center Colton Iverson (212-89, college: Colorado St., agency: Pensack Sports) added 12 points and 6 rebounds. Karsiyaka's coach Ufuk Sarica rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Galatasaray have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 22-8 record having just two points less than leader Anadolu Efes. Defending champion Karsiyaka keeps the sixth place with 13 games lost.
