Regular Season Round 1: Neuss - B.Loewen 78-52

TG Neuss used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Loewen 78-52 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by TG Neuss. B.Loewen was better in second period 18-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TG Neuss forced 32 B.Loewen turnovers. Power forward Jana Heinrich (188-86, college: San Diego St.) stepped up and scored 14 points for the winners and swingman Franziska Worthmann (178-86, college: Robert Morris) chipped in 11 points. Five TG Neuss players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Catrina Green (188-92, college: Gardner-Webb) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import Ja'Nee Morton (175) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. TG Neuss will face Krofdorf/Gleib. in Giessen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. B.Loewen will play at home against Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
