Quite impressive performance for Finnish Tuukka Kotti (205-81, college: Providence) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 7 rebounds. American point guard Nimrod Hilliard IV (183-93, college: N.C.Central) contributed with 11 points for the winners. Five Crailsheim Merlins players scored in double figures. Crailsheim Merlins' coach Thomas Iisalo felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American forward Dan Oppland (203-84, college: Valparaiso) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and guard Sebastian Schroeder (192-88) added 12 points in the effort for Nuernberg. Crailsheim Merlins will face MLP Academics Heidelberg (#4) at home in the next round. Nuernberg will play against Uni Baskets (#8) in Paderborn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
