Regular Season Round 1: Interkhim - Blyskavky 63-49

The most surprising game was a loss of Blyskavky (0-1) in Odessa on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Interkhim (2-0) 63-49. The game was mostly controlled by Interkhim. Blyskavky managed to win fourth quarter 19-7. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Blyskavky to just 4 points in second quarter. Interkhim held Blyskavky to an opponent 20.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 39.0 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Blyskavky 49-28 including a 37-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Interkhim looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of center Kristina Karp (196-98) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Natalia Kolotovska (173-90) contributed with 5 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Interkhim's coach Iryna Shchipakina used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Viktoriia Khomiak (170-95) answered with 12 points and 5 rebounds and Iryna Zhmurko (185-96) added 13 points in the effort for Blyskavky. Interkhim are looking forward to face Dynamo-NPU (#4) in Kyiv in the next round. Blyskavky will play at home against DVUFK and is hoping to win this game.
