A very interesting game took place in Keltern. It ended with only two-point home defeat of Keltern II (0-2) to Wasserburg II (1-1) 74-72 on Saturday evening. Keltern II was ahead by 10 points after three quarters before a 25-13 charge of Wasserburg II, which allowed them to win the game. American forward Liz Wood (178-93, college: Maine) notched 19 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and Canadian guard Brittany Moore (168-89) supported her with 24 points. Even 19 points by Leonie Elbert (169-96) did not help to save the game for Keltern II. American power forward Kiley Shoemaker (187-94, college: Wheaton, MA) added 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the hosts. Four Keltern II players scored in double figures. Keltern II's coach Rouven Roessler tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Wasserburg II's next round opponent will be Don Bosco Bamberg (#8) at home. Keltern II will play against Homburger TG and hope to win that game.
