Gladiators (2-0) crushed at home ETB Wohnbau (0-2) by 22 points 87-65, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. Gladiators outrebounded ETB Wohnbau 36-23 including 17 on the offensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. American swingman Brandon Spearman (190-91, college: Hawaii) scored 21 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Simon Schmitz (188-90) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Spearman is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Gladiators players scored in double figures. Gladiators' coach Marco van den Berg felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Chris Alexander (186-83, college: Southern) responded with 14 points and his fellow American import forward Eric Thompson (203-93, college: Pacific) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Gladiators will face Nuernberg (#11) in Nurnberg in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ETB Wohnbau will play at home against Kirchheim Knights and hope to win that game.
