Gladiators (2-0) crushed at home ETB Wohnbau (0-2) by 22 points 87-65, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. Gladiators outrebounded ETB Wohnbau 36-23 including 17 on the offensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. American swingman Brandon Spearman (190-91, college: Hawaii) scored 21 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Simon Schmitz (188-90) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Gladiators' coach Marco van den Berg felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Chris Alexander (186-83, college: Southern) responded with 14 points and his fellow American import forward Eric Thompson (203-93, college: Pacific) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Gladiators will face Nuernberg (#11) in Nurnberg in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ETB Wohnbau will play at home against Kirchheim Knights and hope to win that game.
