Regular Season Round 2: Bernau - Schalke 86-68

SSV Lok Bernau defeated Schalke at home 86-68. SSV Lok Bernau dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Schalke's 30. SSV Lok Bernau forced 20 Schalke turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Schalke was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Pierre Bland (188-92, college: IPFW, agency: Dynamics Global Management) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 assists. The other American import forward Timajh Parker-Rivera (203-94, college: Towson) contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American guard Courtney Belger (188-89, college: Quincy) replied with 15 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and naturalized Russia forward Nikita Khartchenkov (201-87) added 10 points and 6 assists in the effort for Schalke. Four SSV Lok Bernau and five Schalke players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Schalke will play next round against SC Rist Wedel trying to get back on the winning streak. SSV Lok Bernau will try to continue on its current victory against Rostock on the road.
