Regular Season Round 3: Herner - Donau-Ries 78-65

Herner TC (3-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat TH Wohnbau Angels (0-3) 78-65. TH Wohnbau Angels were ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 43-28 second half run of Herner TC. They outrebounded TH Wohnbau Angels 39-27 including 24 on the defensive glass. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. It was a quality performance for American forward Kristi Bellock (185-90, college: Texas A&M) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Her fellow American import point guard Haiden Palmer (173-91, college: Gonzaga) accounted for 11 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. Herner TC's coach Marek Piotrowski allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Canadian forward Kim Pierre-Louis (183-93, college: Massachusetts) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and Serbian guard Aleksandra Racic (181-90) added 18 points respectively for TH Wohnbau Angels in the defeat. Herner TC will play against Rotenburg/Scheessel (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TH Wohnbau Angels will play against TV Saarlouis Royals and hope to get finally their first victory.
