There was a minor upset in Izmir where Gelisim (1-1) was defeated by Turk Telekom (1-1) 89-81 on Friday. Turk Telekom made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Turk Telekom had a 28-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Gelisim was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Ahmet Cantitiz (193-92) scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and forward Mehmet Ozdogan (198-87) chipped in 27 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) during the contest. Turk Telekom will face Socar Petkim (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
