Regular Season Round 2: Triglav - Ilrija 73-45

First defeat of Ilrija (1-1) against Triglav (2-0) 73-45 was the most important game of the last round. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 73-45. Triglav dominated on the defensive end, holding Ilrija to just 7 points in third quarter and to 14 points in second half. Triglav dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Ilrija's 26. Triglav forced 20 Ilrija turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Swingman Ziva Zdolsek (178-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 10 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Point guard Manca Jelenc (175-96) contributed with 13 points and 4 assists for the winners. Five Triglav players scored in double figures. Triglav's coach Bojan Lazic felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Polona Zalar (175-91) replied with 19 points and forward Anja Klavzar (179-90) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Ilrija. Ilrija will play next round against Domzale trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Triglav will try to continue on its current victory against Janina on the road.
