Regular Season Round 2: KTU - Petrochema 69-62

KTU used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Jonava 69-62 on Saturday night. The game without a history. KTU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Petrochema's 20. KTU forced 25 Petrochema turnovers. Strangely Petrochema outrebounded KTU 43-30 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Ignas Labutis (198-94) had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and Rokas Stankevicius (200-95) chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Point guard Tadas Sebeziovas (185-85) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and point guard Lukas Grabauskas (194-95) scored 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. KTU will face Ezerunas-Karys (#10) in Moletai in the next round where they are favorite. Petrochema will play on the road against Mazeikiai and hope to win that game.
