Dragons Rhoendorf used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Noerdlingen 81-69 on Saturday night. It was a good game for American forward Aaron Nelson (203-91, college: S.Indiana) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds. Point guard Viktor Frankl-Maus (186-93) contributed with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Dragons Rhoendorf's coach Matthias Sonnenschein allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Adrian Lind (204-94) answered with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and American guard Terence Smith (193-91, college: Mississippi) added 17 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Giants. Four Giants players scored in double figures. Dragons Rhoendorf will face FC Bayern II (#3) in Muenchen in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Giants will play at home against Wuerzburg (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
