Regular Season Round 1: Istanbul BBSK - Anadolu Efes 67-95

Istanbul BBSK was not able to use a home court advantage and was crushed by the opponent from Istanbul 95-67. Anadolu Efes outrebounded Istanbul BBSK 35-19 including 23 on the defensive glass. American forward Derrick Brown (202-87, college: Xavier) nailed 20 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and his fellow American import guard Bryce Cotton (183-92, college: Providence) accounted for 16 points. Anadolu Efes' coach Velimir Perasovic felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Slovenia swingman Jaka Klobucar (198-87) came up with 15 points and 5 assists and American guard Sean Armand (196-91, college: Iona) added 14 points respectively for Istanbul BBSK in the defeat. Five Anadolu Efes and four Istanbul BBSK players scored in double figures. Anadolu Efes' next round opponent will be TED Kolejliler (#14) in Ankara which should be another easy win for them. Istanbul BBSK will play on the road against Fenerbahce (#10) in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
