Regular Season Round 6: Dzukija - Neptunas 56-80

Neptunas can celebrate finally their first win this season after four consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Alytus, where they outplayed Dzukija (2-3) 80-56 on Sunday. The game without a history. Neptunas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Neptunas had a 24-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. American point guard Larry Drew II (188-90, college: UCLA) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Jerai Grant (203-89, college: Clemson) chipped in 8 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Julius Kazakauskas (197-90) with 7 points and 8 rebounds and center Karolis Guscikas (205-92, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Neptunas maintains ninth position with 1-4 record. Loser Dzukija dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. They share the position with Juventus. Neptunas will meet at home higher ranked Juventus (#8) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Dzukija will play against the league's leader Zalgiris where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
