Regular Season Round 2: Maribor - Jezica 73-55

Maribor defeated Jezica at home 73-55. The game without a history. Maribor led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Jezica's 36. Maribor forced 29 Jezica turnovers. Strangely Jezica outrebounded Maribor 35-22 including 23 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Center Ela Stergar (187-96) scored 23 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Simona Kuzma (168-87) chipped in 17 points, 7 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Maribor's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Serbian forward Vladana Vujisic (178-98) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and guard Sandra Bajrektarevic (168-90) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Jezica will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Maribor will try to continue on its current victory against Konjice on the road.
