Regular Season Round 5: Budivelnyk - Bipa Basket 83-68

No shocking result in a game in Kyiv where sixth ranked Budivelnyk (3-3) defeated 10th ranked Bipa Basket (1-5) 83-68 on Friday. The game without a history. Budivelnyk led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Budivelnyk outrebounded Bipa Basket 42-30 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Bipa Basket was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was naturalized Lithuania center Michailis Anisimovas (214-84) who scored 24 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Sergey Gorbenko (202-85) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. The former international point guard Klym Artamonov (185-93) produced 8 points and 10 assists and American guard Kenney Funderburk (193-92, college: Columbus St., agency: AproK Sports Group) added 16 points and 4 steals respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Budivelnyk maintains sixth place with 3-3 record. Loser Bipa Basket keeps the tenth position with five games lost. Budivelnyk will face bottom-ranked Avantazh-Polit. (#11) in Kharkiv in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
