Regular Season Round 5: Dnipro - VolinBasket 85-68

There was no surprise in Dnepropetrovsk where 8th ranked VolinBasket (1-2) was defeated by second ranked Dnipro (4-1) 85-68 on Friday. The game without a history. Dnipro led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to VolinBasket's 34. Dnipro looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was international center Sergiy Zagreba (214-94) who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. International forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (202-89, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Ivan Timoshuk (191-91) produced 15 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Artem Chemiakin (208-84) added 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Dnipro. They maintain second place with 4-1 record having just three points less than leader Khimik. Loser VolinBasket keeps the eighth position with two games lost. Dnipro will have a break next round. VolinBasket will play on the road against Zaporizhya (#3) in Zaporozhye and hope to win that game.
