There was no surprise in Dudenhofen where bottom-ranked ASC Theresianum Mainz (0-4) was defeated by sixth ranked Speyer / Schifferstadt (2-1) 64-47 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 64-47. Speyer / Schifferstadt held ASC Theresianum Mainz to an opponent 22.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 29.1 percent accuracy of the winners. Speyer / Schifferstadt forced 22 ASC Theresianum Mainz turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jennifer Mocanu (172-90) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Uta Gelbke (177-86) who added 9 points and 7 rebounds during the contest.
