Regular Season Round 4: Licher Baeren - Fraport SKY II 78-58

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Fraport Skyliners II (1-3) was outplayed on the road by top-ranked Licher Basket (4-0) 78-58 on Saturday. Licher Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Fraport Skyliners II's 26. Licher Basket forced 22 Fraport Skyliners II turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American forward Shawn Gulley (201-93, college: Temple JC) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) and American power forward Lamar Mallory (198-90, college: Glenville St.) who added 21 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Mallory is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side point guard Garai Zeeb (186-97, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 20 points and 7 assists and Konstantin Schubert (195-98) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Fraport Skyliners II's coach let to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Licher Basket have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position in South with 4-0 record. Fraport Skyliners II lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with three games lost. Licher Basket will face Elchingen (#4) on the road in the next round. Fraport Skyliners II will play against Giants (#8) in Noerdlingen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
