Regular Season Round 4: Osnabruecker TB - Neuss 43-79

2. Bundesliga top team - TG Neuss (4-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Osnabruecker (2-2) 79-43. The game without a history. TG Neuss led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Osnabruecker to just 4 points in third and fourth quarters. TG Neuss dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Osnabruecker's 28. TG Neuss forced 30 Osnabruecker turnovers and outrebounded them 36-25 including 22 on the defensive glass. American guard Dara Taylor (173-91, college: Penn St.) fired 16 points for the winners. Power forward Jana Heinrich (188-86, college: San Diego St.) chipped in 9 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Michelle Mueller (186-92) produced 10 points and American guard Elizabeth Belanger (178-94, college: New Hampshire) added 5 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. TG Neuss have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position in North with 4-0 record, which they share with Osnabruck SC. Newly promoted Osnabruecker keeps the fifth place with two games lost. They share the position with Opladen and Krofdorf/Gleib.. TG Neuss will meet at home SG BBZ Opladen (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Osnabruecker will play against Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
