Regular Season Round 4: Petrochema - Perlas-MRU 58-63

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Perlas-MRU (3-1) beat 10th ranked Petrochema (1-3) in Jonava 63-58 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning next two quarters and won the game by 5 points. Petrochema was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for guard Margiris Normantas (193-96) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 5 rebounds. Swingman Tautvydas Pipiras (197-93) contributed with 5 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Forward Mykolas Dieninis (197-97) replied with 16 points and swingman Vytautas Pikalavicius (197-90) added 7 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Petrochema. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Perlas-MRU keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams. Petrochema at the other side keeps the tenth place with three games lost. Perlas-MRU will face league's second-placed Suduva-Mantinga in Marijampole in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Petrochema will play at home against Zalgiris II (#13) and hope to win that game.
