Regular Season Round 4: Rasai - Mazeikiai 84-58

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Rasai (3-1) outplayed 8th ranked Mazeikiai (1-3) in Raseiniai 84-58 on Saturday. The game without a history. Rasai led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Rasai outrebounded Mazeikiai 43-27 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for power forward Sarunas Beniusis (206-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Point guard Tomas Galeckas (183-94) contributed with 11 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Rasai players scored in double figures. Swingman Kostas Jonuska (195-92) replied with 15 points and forward Rytis Biliartas (200-91) added 13 points in the effort for Mazeikiai. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rasai keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams. Mazeikiai lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with three games lost. Rasai will face Telsiai (#4) in Telsiu in the next round. Mazeikiai will play at home against Ezerunas-Karys (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
