Rather predictable result in Gruenberg where top-ranked Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (3-0) defeated 7th ranked Baskets Grunberg (1-3) 50-39 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 32-20 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Alli Gloyd (185-92, college: Arizona) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Crystal Leary (185-92, college: W.Virginia) who added 10 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Greek forward Vasiliki Karambatsa (183-96) responded with 9 points and 6 rebounds and Canadian forward Vanessa Zailo (180-92, college: Lindenwood) scored 4 points and 11 rebounds. Baskets Grunberg's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in North, which they share with Goettingen. Loser Baskets Grunberg dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel will face Osnabruecker (#7) at home in the next round. Baskets Grunberg will play against TuSLi Berlin in Lichterfelde and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
