Regular Season Round 4: Bayer Giants - Elchingen 100-89

Elchingen (2-1) recorded its first loss in Leverkusen on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by seventh ranked Bayer Giants (2-2) 100-89. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Elchingen. Bayer Giants forced 21 Elchingen turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Brandon Nazione (203-94, college: E.Michigan) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. The other American import guard Kerry Carter (188-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in 25 points, 6 assists and 6 steals. Four Bayer Giants players scored in double figures. American guard Brandon Lockhart (185-90, college: Drury) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals and forward Brian Butler (196-91) added 18 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bayer Giants moved-up to fifth place in South, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Elchingen keeps the fourth position with one game lost. Bayer Giants will meet Dragons Rhoendorf (#5) on the road in the next round. Elchingen will play against the league's leader Licher Basket and hope to secure a win.
