Regular Season Round 3: Avangard - Tim-Scuf 84-60

Tim-Scuf (3-1) recorded a loss in Kyiv on Wednesday night. Visitors were rolled over by Avangard (2-1) 84-60. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Avangard held Tim-Scuf to an opponent 24.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 40.6 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Tim-Scuf 58-22 including a 22-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Avangard looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Avangard made 7 blocks. 30 personal fouls committed by Tim-Scuf helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was international center Olga Yatskovets (183-97) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds. Avangard is looking forward to face Blyskavky (#4) in Vinnytsia in the next round. Tim-Scuf's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kyiv to the arena Dynamo-NPU.
