Regular Season Round 7: Dnipro - Kryvbas 55-48

The game between Top Four teams took place in Dnepropetrovsk. Second ranked host Dnipro (4-1) defeated 4th placed Kryvbas (4-2) 55-48. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kryvbas. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-13. But Kryvbas won second period 15-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Dnipro won last quarter 14-8. They held Kryvbas to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 32.8 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Kryvbas 45-28 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for international Olexandr Mishula (192-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 7 assists. International center Sergiy Zagreba (214-94) helped adding 8 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side international swingman Dmytro Gliebov (198-88) responded with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international guard Sergei Popov (196-88, agency: BeoBasket) scored 5 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Kryvbas' coach Valeriy Plehanov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Dnipro have a solid series of four victories in a row. Despite that victory Dnipro went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with Zaporizhya. Kryvbas at the other side dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. They share the position with Mykolaiv. Dnipro is looking forward to face Mykolaiv (#6) in Mykolaiv in the next round. Kryvbas will play on the road against Zaporizhya in Zaporozhye and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
