Regular Season Round 3: Demir IBB - Tofas 70-93

An interesting game took place in Buyukcekmece where Demir IBB (2-1) was upset on its own court by Tofas (1-2) 93-70. The game without a history. Tofas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 63.0 percent from the field. Tofas outrebounded Demir IBB 34-22 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. Tofas players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Demir IBB's players. It was an exceptional evening for the former international point guard Baris Ermis (194-85) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 9 assists. Bulgaria power forward Kaloyan Ivanov (205-86, agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 16 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Four Tofas players scored in double figures. Swingman Ceyhun Altay (196-86, agency: Court Side) came up with 18 points and American-Italian forward Angelo Caloiaro (205-89, college: USF, agency: Pensack Sports) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Demir IBB in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tofas will play against Balikesir (#12) at home in the next round. Demir IBB will play against Banvit (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
