Regular Season Round 4: Yalova Vip - Nevsehir HBVU 79-59

Bottom-ranked Nevsehir Uni (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 79-59 loss to eleventh ranked Yalova Vip (2-2) in Yalova on Saturday evening. They also forced 26 Nevsehir Uni turnovers and outrebounded them 35-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. Yalova Vip looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Akila McDonald (193-91, college: S.Florida) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 15 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field) and forward Ebru Torun (-87) who added 11 points and 7 assists during the contest. Yalova Vip's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side forward Dilek Ozak (182-83) responded with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American power forward Eboni Ross (190-93, college: Shaw) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Yalova Vip moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Nevsehir Uni still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with 55 Genclik and Anadolu Univ.. Yalova Vip will meet Urla BLD (#17) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Nevsehir Uni will play against Istanbulgucu and hopes to get finally their first victory.
