Undefeated Licher Basket (4-1) recorded its first loss on the court of fourth ranked Elchingen on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by Elchingen 105-102. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Licher Basket. Elchingen forced 22 Licher Basket turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Brandon Lockhart (185-90, college: Drury) who scored 27 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals. Forward Brian Butler (196-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Five Elchingen players scored in double figures. Elchingen's coach Dario Jerkic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard K.K. Simmons (191-93, college: Pikeville) produced 35 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and the other American import power forward Lamar Mallory (198-90, college: Glenville St.) added 22 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the guests. Elchingen (3-1) moved-up to third place in South, which they share with FC Bayern II. Loser Licher Basket still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Karlsruhe PS. Elchingen will meet Weissenhorn Youngstars (#6) on the road in the next round. Licher Basket will play against the league's leader Karlsruhe PS (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
