Very important is a road loss of Adana ASKI (0-1) against Istanbul Uni (1-0) on Saturday night. Visiting Adana ASKI was defeated by Istanbul Uni in a tough game in Istanbul 59-66. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-17. But Adana ASKI won second period 16-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American point guard Tan White (170-82, college: Mississippi St., agency: Josep and Nicolas) nailed 13 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists (made all of her seven free throws) for the winning side and her fellow American import forward Jordan Hooper (188-92, college: Nebraska) accounted for 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Istanbul Uni players scored in double figures. American power forward Avery Warley (190-87, college: Liberty) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and Israeli-American forward Alysha Clark (178-87, college: Middle Tenn.St.) added 17 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Adana ASKI in the defeat. Istanbul Uni will meet Fenerbahce (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Adana ASKI will play against Samsun (#13) and hope to win that game.
