Regular Season Round 5: Wolfenbuettel - Osnabruecker TB 67-65

Important game to mention about took place in Wolfenbuettel. Leader Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (4-0) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 7th ranked Osnabruecker (2-3) 67-65 on Saturday evening. It looked good early as Osnabruecker took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel had a 18-10 second period charge getting the lead and Osnabruecker was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-67. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel forced 20 Osnabruecker turnovers. American forward Alli Gloyd (185-92, college: Arizona) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. Her fellow American import forward Crystal Leary (185-92, college: W.Virginia) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American guard Elizabeth Belanger (178-94, college: New Hampshire) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and Canadian guard Amencie Mercier (170-91, college: Northeastern) added 18 points in the effort for Osnabruecker. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel. They moved-up to third place in North. Newly promoted Osnabruecker dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Opladen and Gruenberg. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel will play against SG BBZ Opladen (#7) in Leverkusen in the next round. Osnabruecker will play at home against TuSLi Berlin and hopes to get back on the winning track.
