Regular Season Round 3: Electrico FC - Maia Basket 75-81

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Ponte de Sor where Electrico FC (1-2) was defeated by Maia Basket (1-2) 81-75. Maia Basket forced 26 Electrico FC turnovers. It was a good game for the former international forward Nuno Marcal (205-75) who led his team to a victory with 38 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). Center Paulo Diamantino (203-85) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Maia Basket's coach Andre Moreira allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Power forward Joao Torrie (200-91) answered with 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Joao Lanzinha (188-89) added 12 points and 7 assists in the effort for Electrico FC. Four Electrico FC players scored in double figures. Maia Basket's next round opponent will be Benfica at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
