Regular Season Round 5: Leipzig - Weissenhorn 63-95

Bottom-ranked USC Leipzig (0-5) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to seventh ranked Weissenhorn Youngstars (3-2) 95-63 on Sunday evening. Weissenhorn Youngstars looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Center Bjoern Rohwer (213-95) stepped up and scored 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and American guard Devon Baulkman (193-91, college: Tennessee) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Weissenhorn Youngstars players scored in double figures. American forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: Cal Poly Pomona) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import forward Terence Billups (198-88, college: IU Southeast) scored 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Weissenhorn Youngstars moved-up to fifth place in South, which they share with Dragons. Loser USC Leipzig still closes the standings with five games lost. Weissenhorn Youngstars will face higher ranked Elchingen (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. USC Leipzig will play against Dragons Rhoendorf (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
