Regular Season Round 3: Blyskavky - Tavriyska Zirka 64-50

There was no surprise in Vinnytsia where Tavriyska Zivka (0-2) was defeated by Blyskavky (2-1) 64-50. The game was mostly controlled by Blyskavky. Tavriyska Zivka was better in fourth quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Tavriyska Zivka to just 6 points in first quarter. Blyskavky made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 29 Tavriyska Zivka turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was a good game for international power forward Tetyana Yurkevicius (187-95) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks. Power forward Cynthia Omoboogunje (185-94) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Blyskavky will play against Avangard (#3) in Kyiv in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tavriyska Zivka will play at home against Dynamo-NPU (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
