Regular Season Round 5: B.Loewen - Krofdorf/Gleib. 77-81

There was no surprise when 9th ranked B.Loewen (1-3) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Krofdorf/Gleib. (3-2) 81-77 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But B.Loewen won fourth quarter 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Krofdorf/Gleib. forced 21 B.Loewen turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward Chelsea Small (185, college: Indiana St.) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. The former international point guard Julia Gaudermann (166-92) chipped in 20 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. American center Catrina Green (188-92, college: Gardner-Webb) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import Ja'Nee Morton (175) added 18 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four B.Loewen players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Krofdorf/Gleib. maintains fifth place in North with 3-2 record. Loser B.Loewen keeps the ninth position with three games lost. Krofdorf/Gleib. will face higher ranked Goettingen (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. B.Loewen will play against Baskets Grunberg (#6) in Gruenberg and hope to win that game.
