Regular Season Round 3: Galatasaray - Banvit BK 74-83

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Galatasaray (2-1) in Istanbul on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Banvit (3-0) 83-74. They made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American point guard Jordan Theodore (182-89, college: Seton Hall) who led his team to a victory scoring 34 points (!!!) and 9 assists. Lithuania swingman Gediminas Orelik (199-90) helped adding 18 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Serbian forward Vladimir Micov (201-85, agency: BeoBasket) with 18 points and 4 assists and international Sinan Guler (192-83, college: Carroll, MT, agency: 1x1 Sports) scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Galatasaray's coach Ergin Ataman rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Banvit is looking forward to face Demir IBB (#7) in Buyukcekmece in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Galatasaray will play on the road against Gaziantep and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
