Regular Season Round 4: Ukmerges - Aistes-LSU 50-71

Aistes-LSU has registered their first victory this season after three consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Ukmerge, where they outplayed Ukmerges (0-5) 71-50 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Aistes-LSU. Ukmerges managed to win third quarter 13-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sarune Melinauskaite (170-96) fired 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Laura Zelnyte (190-94) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Aistes-LSU players scored in double figures. Aistes-LSU's coach Gediminas Meiliunas felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Martyna Petrenaite (181-98) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and Aurelija Putramentaite (180-95) added 12 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Aistes-LSU maintains sixth position with 1-3 record. It was Ukmerges' fifth loss in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with five games lost. Aistes-LSU will meet league's leader Fortuna in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Ukmerges will play against the league's second-placed Kibirkstis-VICI (#2) in Vilnius and hopes to get finally their first victory.
