Regular Season Round 6: Rostock - Art.Dragons 85-88

Date: October 28, 2016
Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Rostock (3-3) was edged at home by fourth ranked Artland Dragons (3-3) 88-85 on Friday. Strangely Rostock outrebounded Artland Dragons 43-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Benjamin Fumey (203-87, college: Valparaiso) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds. Naturalized American point guard Matthew Reid (185-84, college: Cameron, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 15 points and 6 assists. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Jarvis Davis (183-91, college: Gardner-Webb) who recorded 29 points and 5 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and naturalized American Andres Murillo (201-90, college: Biola, CA, agency: Octagon Europe) added 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Rostock's coach Andreas Barthel let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Despite that victory Artland Dragons went down to fifth position (North) due to points difference, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Rostock. Artland Dragons will face higher ranked Iserlohn (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Rostock will play against Schalke and hope to win that game.
