Regular Season Round 7: Petrochema - Telsiai 61-73

Very predictable result when sixth ranked Telsiai (5-2) won against 12th ranked Petrochema (2-5) in Jonava 73-61 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Telsiai. Petrochema managed to win second period 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for forward Ovidijus Kaminskis (195-91) who led the winners and scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Gintautas Kybartas (201-94) accounted for 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Swingman Vytautas Pikalavicius (197-90) came up with 8 points and 12 rebounds and forward Karolis Sarukas (198-95) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Petrochema in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Telsiai moved-up to third place, which they share with Perlas-MRU. Loser Petrochema keeps the twelfth position with five games lost. Telsiai will meet at home KTU (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Petrochema will play against Rasai in Raseiniai and hope to secure a win.
