Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Academico FC and 5th ranked Sanjoanense had identical 1-2 record. This time Academico FC used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from 71-58 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 9 points at the halftime before their 39-17 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Academico FC made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Sanjoanense turnovers. Academico FC will face Guifoes (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Sanjoanense will play against Ginasio and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
