Regular Season Round 4: Fisica - Angra 51-57

Angrabasket has registered their first victory this season after two consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Torres Vedras, where they defeated Fisica (1-3) 57-51 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-8. But Fisica won second period 12-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Cape Verdean swingman Flavio Gomes (194-88) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 19 rebounds and guard Ricardo Mendes (181-90) who added 13 points during the contest. At the losing side center Pedro Bagio (194-79) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Ricardo Robalo (165-84) scored 11 points and 4 assists. Four Fisica players scored in double figures. Fisica's coach Romero Junior gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. It was the only win of guest team this round and in all other games host teams recorded victories. Angrabasket (1-2) left bottom position moving up to fifth place in Group South, which they share with Belenenses CF. Newly promoted Fisica dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Angrabasket will face higher ranked Estoril Basket (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Fisica will play against Benfica B (#4) in Lisboa and hope to win that game.
