Regular Season Round 7: Bayreuth II - TSV Troester 52-95

Everything went according to plan when third ranked TSV Troester (5-1) outleveled on the road 12th ranked Bayreuth 2 (1-5) 95-52 on Saturday. The game without a history. TSV Troester led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Bayreuth 2's 24. TSV Troester forced 22 Bayreuth 2 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Guard Dirk Dippold (186-90) fired 27 points and 4 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. Swingman Sven Lorber (187-97) chipped in 13 points and 5 assists. Five TSV Troester players scored in double figures. Power forward Nils Dejworek (207-95, college: Valdosta St.) produced 10 points and 4 assists and Moritz Trieb (190-98) added 5 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for TSV Troester. They moved-up to second place in South-East, which they share with Bad Aibling. Loser Bayreuth 2 dropped to the thirteenth position with five games lost. TSV Troester will face Oberhaching (#11) in Deisenhofen in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bayreuth 2 will play on the road against Topstar in Diedorf and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
