There was a surprise result when tenth ranked ALBA Berlin II (1-2) defeated at home higher ranked Rendsburg (1-2) 80-75 on Saturday. Point guard Daniel Kirchner (174-97) fired 19 points for the winners. Badu Buck (194-99) chipped in 14 points. Four ALBA Berlin II players scored in double figures. American swingman Martell Collins (196-93, college: SW Oklahoma St.) produced a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and forward Morris Brodersen (194-89) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Rendsburg's coach Bjarne Homfeldt rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. ALBA Berlin II left bottom position moving up to seventh place in North, which they share with defeated Rendsburg. ALBA Berlin II will face higher ranked Wusterhausen (#4) in Wildau in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
